Australia
Six-month study abroad, complete with lots of regional adventure.
University of Queensland Campus
My home for the next semester… July - November (spring in Australia) 1995.
Stradbroke Island Geology Trip
My Sedimentology & Basin Analysis class visited one of Brisbane’s barrier islands to study the road cuts, rocky beaches, and silica and rutile mining facilities. The boys use any excuse to jump in the water.
Mt. Tamborine
Camping trip, rainforest walks, and treetop walk.
Heron Island
This tiny island - about 40 acres - boasts unique geology and outstanding biodiversity. I was fortunate enough to assist my classmate Graham with his research here over spring break.
